Peter everywhere


On 4th Nov.it's been 10 years, since Peter Pan gave back me my life. That day in 2004 I was (back) at Disneyland Resort Paris (my 6th visit there, the 5th was 4 years ago), and when I saw the Parade at 4 pm, I lost my composure began to cry. But it was a good feeling, because I felt all the stifled feelings from the past years. After that, I had to go to "Peter Pans Flight" (In all my visits before, it was my favorite attraction already, but I didn't know why.) There, I began to realize, what an idiot I was. "I LOVE DISNEY, LOVE ANIMATION, so why did I do, as if I don't like it - only because others think that? THIS ENDS NOW" - that where my thoughts, after crying again there.
Back home, the first thing I did, was watching "Peter Pan". And in the following weeks, 2,3 times a day. And I used every free minute, to think and to change my life. Little changes, but I began to feel much better. And I realized, that Peter Pan was there, always and everywhere. And so I changed to the person I am now. Disney fan, Peter Pan fanatic, cosplayer, drawer, Deviant...

Peter Pan is everywhere for me. I'll show you, where I found/find him at Disney (especially music) and where I found and find him else. This is no complete list. Because I made this list for years in my mind, but never wrote it down. So, I have to add points in the future. (Notice: some points are based on my individual feelings/actions.)

Disney:

-Song: Dancin' a catchy rhythm: 3rd verse: ...A wink a smile and then a touch of magic pixie dust...

-Song: Magic everywhere: Chorus: "In a world of light we all come together, Never Lands forever, for all our lives

-Song: The Great Divide (Tinkerbell and the secret of wings):
"I never knew I lost you till I found you,
And I never guess how close ou were to me..."
I guess that these lyrics may be one description about how Peter found his place in my life!

-The trailers of Disney video cassetts in 199x's. One trailer was for "Sing Along-" videos. And the trailer started with Peter Pan jumping out of the Window and calling: "Come on, everybody, here we goooooooooo!"

-My favorite Story book to christmas is a Disney story book (with "A Christmas Carol"...). One story is: "Peter Pan and the kidnapped Santa Clause". I love that story!

-In 2007 the Disneyland Resort Paris celebrated 15th anniversary. Every evening there was "Candleabrations" with Mickey and his friends. And they waved the flaggs and then they turned on the light on the castle. And one of the music-titles was from P.J. Hogans "Peter Pan" (when they fly to Never Land - of course).

-In 2009 they celebrated Mickey's 80th anniversary in the Park. The show "Mickey's Magical Party Time" with... Peter Pan - of course. They wanted us visitors to join the activities (bouncing with Tigger...) and it was my first mexican-wave right before and animated by Peter Pan!!!

-After the last exam for my A-level I went to a electronic shop (only to look) and got by chance the PC-game "Peter Pan - Return to Never Land".

-Nine months later, my first game for PS 2 was "Peter Pan - Legend of Never Land" That was the reason why I bought the console. (I knew KH before, but I was "just" my third game)

-I bought KH BECAUSE there is the world Never Land. A real and fanatic KH-fan I became later...

[New Entry] Chip & Dale rescue rangers: This was the first Disney series I watched. In the intro there is a crocodile that looks like the Tick-Tock-Crocodile
The same Crocodile appears in the intro of Darkwing Duck, another series I love much.

Other:

-Another hero I like (knowing since i was seven years old; and I rediscovered him two years ago) is "The Little Vampire" by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg. I never understood Tony, that he wanted to stay human (ok, that I can perhaps accept) and that he wanted to grow up... Now, I know, why I can't understand him... And both, the little vampire and his sister stay little forever, and they all can fly, Tony as well.


-Star Trek: Movie Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country
The last command by Cpt. Kirk is: "The second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning"
(In german translation, it is distorted, but I had a hunch... In 2005 I saw the move in original (Thanks to the inventor of the DVD xD) and I was right...
(This citation is often mistakenly assigned to Star Trek by the critics)

-In the cold months, I always wear a headband - like Jake from "Jake and the Never Land Pirates"

-In 2006 there were the german premiere of "Holiday on Ice: Peter Pan" near my hometown. And I got cards!!!

-In 2013 there where a new Peter Pan TV anime serial (26 episodes) but only in german TV. It happens in our time, but still with Wendy, John and Michael Darling (grandchildren of "our" Wendy)

-A colleague of my mother is called Wendy - and I ever felt something I can't describe, when I heared the name. I think, I always associated the name with Peter Pan.

-The same feeling I had/have with the word "Niemandsland" -> "no-man's-land". And that feeling I already had before I knew Peter Pan! (Never Land in german is "Nimmerland" - sound similary")

-I always hated it, when I was called "young man" by the adults. Now I know, why...

-Tropico: I'm a fan of the Tropico-series and got the first just a few week after release. The second game happens on a pirate-Island and your mentor is Smee and one pirate captain to choose as a character is the old codfish ;) (Wink) (Captain Hook)
And in the 5th part there is a radio station called "Jolly Roger" - like the galion of Hook.

-Final Fantasy VII: In Cosmo Canyon there is the shop: "Tiger Lilys arms shop"

-Jurassic Park: I am fan of the trilogy since I was little. In the third movie (ok, the movie itself was not good) there is a dinosaur, that ate a mobile phone and in one scene it rings and the people remember, where the phone was last. Then the dino appears! Idea is stolen from the Tick-Tock-Crocodile!

-Winnetou-Books (Karl May): In german translation, John calls himself Winnetou before going to catch some indians and the chief is called "Intschu Tschuna" - the father of Winnetou

Coincidiences???? I can't beliefe in coincidiences concerning Peter Pan

I believe in Peter Pan - for ever!
